Douglas Savage was admitted to the Queensland Bar on 17 December 1985. He was an Associate to Mr Justice John Dowsett then of the Supreme Court of Queensland. He commenced private practice at the Queensland Bar in April 1986 and took silk on 1 November 2001.

He is a graduate of the University of Queensland holding the degrees of Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws.

Mr Savage conducts a commercial trial and more general appellate practice with a particular experience at first instance in banking, insolvency, construction and insurance disputes.
